Teaching Children About Health


Life is an overwhelming struggle if we don't have our health and quality of life. For this reason, it is important to teach children how to take care of their bodies. It is one of the best gifts you can give them.

When teaching children about health a good place to start is to educate them with a basic natural health model. Here are 4 basic concepts to incorporate into a healthy lifestyle.

The B-O-D-Y Natural Health Model

  1. B stands for Bless, which means to divinely care for your health by giving attention to your mind, body and spirit. a) Have faith in a divine power. b) Cultivate a positive mental attitude by being aware of your thoughts and words. c) Address negative emotional issues. d) Assist your emotional, spiritual and physical well-being with high vibrational natural remedies, such as herbs, supplements, homeopathics and essential oils.
  2. O stands for Optimize, which means to make your health regimen more effective. a) Eat a diet rich in organic whole foods. Ideally a diet should consist of 50% raw fruits and vegetables. b) Use applied kinesiology or instinctual intuition to streamline your diet and supplement regimen. c) Incorporate enjoyable physical activities into your daily living.
  3. D stands for Detoxify, which means to remove toxins or poisons from your body. a) Avoid pollutants like electromagnetic radiation and chemicals, such as food preservatives, pesticides, herbicides and additives to personal care and household products. b) Eat a diet rich in fiber and use a fiber supplement to clean your digestive system. c) Drink clean, living water. Avoid tap water and over filtered water like RO water. d) Do several internal body cleanses a year.
  4. Y stands for Yield, which means to produce your desired results. a) Analyze the health of each body system, through nutritional and symptom questionnaires. b) Evaluate your progress and tweak your health regimen.

Children learn through the modeling of their parents. So, the best way to teach your children to live a natural health lifestyle is to incorporate these concepts into the family's daily life. The age of the child will determine the language and depth that these concepts are explained.

Teaching children to respect and appreciate his or her body as a divine temple helps them to weigh the consequences of their decisions and actions on their personal well-being.
